Sergei Pietilä is a Finnish artist, and a graduate of both the Lahti Institute of Arts in Finland. Working
primarily in oil, acrylic, and pastel, Pietilä has gained international recognition through his
participation in numerous exhibitions. He is a passionate traveler who gathers artistic material
during his journeys, and prefers to work directly from life. Pietilä's portraits are notable for their
emphasis on revealing the spirit, inner state, and life experiences of his subjects. Landscapes also
constitute a significant portion of his oeuvre, characterized by a mystical perception of nature akin
to ancient pantheism. His works serve as a vivid reminder of the vitality of myth and the formidable
power of natural phenomena. Notably, Pietilä is a key organizer of the "Château de Bonnemare Plein
Air Artists' Residency," further contributing to the art community.
