Essam Marouf has shown his work in Cairo in 1989 at Nile Gallery, followed by 8 solo exhibitions between 1991 and 2007 at Mashrabya Gallery. In 2008 he represented Egypt at the 11th Cairo Biennale. In 2009 he participated in The National Exhibition in Art Palace - Cairo.
Internationally Essam Marouf has shown his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the world, at venues that include Galerie Helga Hofman in the Netherlands (2009), L’Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris (2008), Art Amsterdam 2008 (Smarius gallery - NL), Artparis-AbuDhabi 2008 (Artsawa - Dubai) and he represented Egypt in the exhibition ”L’uomo del Mediterraneo” at Museum Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome (2007).

He lives and works between Cairo and Amsterdam. Since 2006 he works permanently in his atelier in Cairo.www.essammarouf.com

Works of Essam Marouf are represented in many public and private collections in Egypt and abroad including Modern Art Museum in Cairo.
