Shahd is a Syrian visual artist, she studied arts at an early age under the supervision and assistance of many Syrian professors and artists. Graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts - Damascus University, specializing in "sculpture". She is devoted to artistic work between sculpture and painting, and moving between them in an attempt to understand and find her own vocabulary between mass and colored surface and adapt the working media of color, line, surface and mass.

 

She researches extensively in her artworks about enriching her experience and possessing her artistic techniques using different materials and mixing them on the surface of the artwork (painting/sculpture) in the process of demolition and construction, in an attempt to combine these materials with each other، In coexistence that suits every work, whether it is a color surface or a mass and vacuum , the game of mixing materials, experimenting with them, and discovering new solutions has become an integral part of the experience.

Her constant monitoring of the events taking place around her, and her questions that formed her close connection with art to be her visual language and her primary means of sharing and expressing what is going on inside and around her.

 

She began her relationship with the place and her memory towards it as part of the graduation project, which dealt with a group of personalities and their relationship with their city and their surroundings and the resulting questions and inquiries, and moved on to experience the forest fires that have spread since 2020 with the outbreak of fires in the mountains And the forests of several regions in Syria and other countries, and the fear, death, unknown fate, and losses that the harshness of the scene has brought, have increased frighteningly in recent years.

 

She participated in many group exhibitions, forums, and workshops inside and outside Syria.

She began teaching drawing and sculpture to children since 2017 in specialized workshops and courses, in addition to workshops directed especially to children and youth with special needs (Down Syndrome – autism) 2023 continuously until now.
